I have recently published a new whitepaper that details the different options for Enterprise Vault and mobile device integration.  It can be found by visiting the following link on Connect:

This whitepaper can be shared with customers.

Hi Evan,

This is a great Whitepaper, we are thinking to deploy this solution so that users can access archived emails from their Mobile devices. I am doing research on what all costs are associated with each of the option.

Option2 using CommonDesk360/ArchViewer seems to be costly just because of the 3rd party software and their license and server cost.

We are inclined to use Option1 using the Mobile Component on the Evault servers, where can i get the install point for this Mobile component? Is it free or i will need to get license or soemthing?

Here is what i think additionally i would need to make this happen:

- Get the Mobility component and install it on Mailbox Archiving server
- Get a Public IP & a public certificate for the mobile access url

Anything else i am missing here?
Additonally if we decide to load-balance this mobile access traffic then we can use our f5 load balancers and install the Mobillity component on multible mailbox archiving servers.

Thanks in advance!

page 18 of the whitepaper says:

Run the ―Symantec Enterprise Vault Mobile Search.msi‖ package from the Enterprise Vault installation media. The installation package can be found in the \Symantec Enterprise Vault <version>\Mobile Search directory.

i think there's a conflicting statement in your note where you say you want to install this on all the mailbox archiving servers but in evan's whitepaper he says it's recommended not to do that (and i think implies putting it on its own server)

Correct, Mobile Search should be put on its own server (which can be a virtual server on ESX, Hyper-V, etc.).

And for the mobile search component is there any special license required or its totally free with Evault application?
