Many corporates, for good reason, block internet access from datacentre servers, including Enterprise Vault servers.

This prevents being able to click the link on event ID's and being taken straight to the EV KB Articles.

For FireFox users I have created an alternative.

The FireFox EV Event Rosetta search plugin.

Find your "Search Using" toolbar (the one with Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc by default.)

Drop the box listing the search engines, select "Manage Search Engines"

Find the link towards the bottom "Get More Search Engines"

In the search box on the "Add On's" Page presented type "mycroft"

Add the MyCroft Search addin to your FireFox.

MyCroft is a search engine of search engines, with the capability to make your own. You might find amazingly useful things scratching around in here.

Mycroft was Sherlock Holmes brother (Read the book)

Download it now

Install it

Check "use Mycroft immediately"

When you have the Red Icon with the pipe, showing in the firefox search bar, type "symantec"

FInd the SymantecEV-EventRosetta (clientui-kb.symantec.com) by JoTraGo [Review]  item and click the link. (JoTraGo - That's me)

This will install my little search engine.

When done select the Symantec Favicon.

Now type in any event ID from an error in the EV Event log. try 13326

You should be taken straight to the EV Knowledgebase, with a list including

Tech 66826    Event ID 13326 is logged in the Event Viewer

Happy Searching!

Best regards to all EV Types from JoTraGo
