Everything Windows 7 at Vision
Unless you've managed to cut technology out of your life, you've probably heard a lot about the move to Windows 7. It may not be this year, but it will probably be soon. We at Symantec are constantly working with you to see how you can get the most out of migrating to Windows 7. We want to make sure that not only do you have the tools to make the move easy, but that you do it safely. Start with migration and work your way into security, backup, and virtualization. All of these are important technologies that will help you get the most out of Windows 7.
It turns out that Windows 7 migration is going to be a major theme at Vision this year, which works since 7 is a lucky number. There are a number of sessions and labs and some exciting activities happening where you can win some cool prizes. I'll give you a sneak peak of what to look forward to when you come to the conference.
First of all, you could win one of seven Windows 7 prize pack! It looks like this is going to be an XBox, an Arc Mouse, a copy of Windows 7 for your personal use, and some cool Norton Security products. All you have to do is go to a few sessions or labs on Windows 7. I’ve attached an image of the flyer that you'll get in the bag when you come to the conference with all the details. Go to a session or go to the Migration Stations during the Expo to get your card punched. All you need is two punches to be entered to win. It's too bad that I'm not eligible for the contest :(
The Migration Stations at “Control Central” are a great way to get your hands dirty with Symantec migration technology. It only takes a few minutes and you’ll be able to do your own migration from Altiris Deployment Solution. It’s as simple as a drag-n-drop of a job onto a group of computers to get the migration going.
Check out the Dell sessions, labs, and booth as well. They are giving away some amazing hardware and they are going to show you how to use Symantec to migrate to Windows 7.
One more thing… Check out “ManageThis” at Studio 54 on Wednesday night. I’ve heard their drummer is pretty amazing ;)
