We need your help! We are looking for feedback on a new Quick Start Guide designed to help customers to better be able to install Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 without needing to contact support for assistance.

This new Quick Start Guide is intended to walk customers through a basic installation and configuration, and is a supplement to the larger, more in-depth Installation and Administration Guide.

We would be grateful if you could give us a bit of your time to review the guide and complete a short survey to provide feedback and share your thoughts to help us improve the guide.

I had the same error Natwhite01.

After removing the “Automatically uninstall existing Security Software” from the client install settings I exported a new package. The installation got further along but still failed.  The following was in the SEP_INST.LOG “Product: Symantec Endpoint Protection -- Error 25100. The Symantec Endpoint Protection installation could not finish because Windows could not verify a DLL signature

The solution to both seems to be update the root certificates. Refer to this Symantec Tech article:  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH217284

Perhaps Symantec can explain why this is necessary as the release notes for SEP12.1 RU5 and the above mentioned tech article claims that with 12.1.5, the installation automatically installs the required certificates.

Since upgrading to 12.1 RU5 we get this error with some of the installations when exporting the client and running the .exe

SEP Error2.png

I'm not sure why this error is even appearing as we don't use any other AV products than SEP.
