Over the years hospitals have become increasingly more high-tech. Long gone are the days of the country doctor that could fit all of his equipment in one bag. Healthcare organizations are on the bleeding edge of technology, trying to offer their patients the best care possible. One of the main business drivers for implementing a new piece of technology is improving efficiencies so that doctors have more time to spend with patients.

One piece of technology that is helping healthcare organizations do just that is Symantec™ Workspace Corporate, which allows for a single sign-on and a virtual workspace, among other features. Genesys Regional Medical Center, a healthcare facility located in Grand Blanc, Michigan, recently piloted Workspace Corporate and saw tremendous results. Chief among them was a 33 percent decrease in the time it took to conduct rounds, leaving more time for doctors to devote to patient care.

Our organization is implementing a product called Sentillion Vergence for single sign-on and patient context sharing for clinical applications. Would there be too much feature duplication to consider Workspace?

I support both Altiris though not the Workspace product and Sentillion Vergence at my organization.  Each product has its merits but in my opinion have too much overlap to implement together.  I'm  a fan of both companies products so I don't think i'm being biased here.
