How to do backups of your Enterprise Vault environment

At the begining of this year we told you about a best practice document we'd published to help you understand how to manage your EV system from a backup perspective. Well there's been a complete re-write of this document and we're sure you'll want to read this latest version.

This updated best practise document discusses the inherent need to securely backup Enterprise Vault servers to insure best available DR scenarios. With several very important information sources integrated with Enterprise Vault, it is critical that proper backups of his data be performed on a regular basis. This paper considers the impact this has on Enterprise Vault ways customers can easily implement a high degree of coverage for their archived content.

It is important to understand that it is a Best Practise to regularly backup he components of your Enterprise Vault environment to insure that you have adequate DR protection as with any Tier-1 business critical application.

To find out more, just go and download the document from the following URL

Note. This document does not describe the x64 paths in the registry, so it's only for 32bits servers. But it is still a good *Netbackup* document

I've just re-read this

I've just re-read this document - appreciate any (polite) comments and suggestions regarding TSM.

My hope is to speed up backing up of the indices.

Backing up of the VSP's has been done to death, but I've had no such luck with those wonderful indices.

Replace TSM with a superior product? I'd love to but TSM is used for a huge number of other apllications and therefore  considered the one and only backup solution.

Thanks !!
