  1. Step 1

    Note: You can choose to type a password hint, although this step is optional. Be aware that the password hint will be visible to all other computer users. To be more secure, choose a password and hint that cannot be easily guessed.
    Click the "Change password" or "Create password" button when ready. (This will depend on whether you had an existing password or not)

  5. Step 5

    If your passwords do not match, you will be prompted to retype them.

    You're finished! You will now be prompted to enter your password every time you log into your computer.

The easiest way of changing Windows password is to use the command prompt:

1. Open an evaluated command prompt.

2. Enter the following command to change your use password:

net user <username> <password>

Replace the <username> with the name of your Windows account, and <password> with your actual password.

This methods requires you being able to log in to Windows as administrator account. If you forgot your admin password, then you can need to use some third party software such PCUnlocker to change your login password.
