How to Create a Bootable USB Memory Key

A while back I posted an article about how to make a bootable USB Hard drive. There are many uses for the process that I discussed. The only problem is that USB Hard drives are big, require an external power source, and most people don't have an extra hard drive kicking around.
I ran into this great article that goes through the steps to make your USB key bootable. A must read for all of us system admins.

Big hard drives using external power
I have several bootable harddisks of 160 Gb. The brand is La cie.
The disk in it is samsung, and the size is 9 centimeters long, 5 centimeters wide and 9 millimeter Thick.
They only use usb for connection and power.
So no external power, and the price in the netherlands was almost 90 Euro's

I agree, this can be a good way to create a USB memory bootable. This way gives the avalability to system admins to follow an easy manual image deployment without PXE features.

Very interesting. Now I dont have to carry a diskette around everywhere, I can use my USB drive.
