How to find the Enterprise Vault Vault Cache location
For many people it may seem like an 'easy' question but for administrators new to Enterprise Vault who have deployed some or all of the available components, a question which sometimes pops up is :
How do I find the EV Vault Cache location?
The first thing to note is that this can be customised using the Desktop Policy setting:
If you don't change it then it will normally be located within the users profile folder, either c:\Documents and Settings\Username... or c:\users\Username...
But rather than guessing where it is the best thing to do is to use the Outlook Add-in Client trace to find out exactly where it is. When you open the client trace file look for OVROOT:
It is shown with MINIMUM tracing or higher.. ie not the 'Information' setting or lower.

You're welcome.
Typically Vault Cache will be multiple files... Altogether you'll have:
* MDC file
* 'Some' .db files (with content in them, depending on what your policy configuration is)
* StoreIDMap.xml
* Downloadlist.. and a few other small files.
Many Thanks,
