One of the great things about working in the Messaging & Web Security BU is the amount of cool new technology and functionality we work on.  Some times, this is behind the scenes on our backend systems and other times this is new functionality for existing products.

This time, however, I'm really excited to announce the beta program of a brand new application:

I'm really happy to announce the extension of the Symantec Connect security community with the addition of new forums and ideas portals for Symantec Scan Engine and SAV for Network Attached Storage.

I can't quite believe it's September already, this year is flying by at a crazy pace.
This means that the Symantec Vision conference in EMEA has come around quickly too.

This year, we are at the CCIB in Barcelona, Spain, during the first week of October - Tuesday 5th through Thursday 7th.

I've mentioned before that I'm a really keen advocate of bringing our customer base closer to our product development process.

 I'm delighted to announce that we have shipped the latest update to Symantec Brightmail Gateway.
The v8.0.3 release is a really important one as we get closer and closer to releasing version 9.0 next year.
This update includes support for VMWare vSphere 4.0 as well as fixing over 75 bugs.

 As well as meeting up with as many customers as possible, the Gateway Security PM Team (which comprises Brightmail gateway and the new-ish Symantec Web Gateway) like to hold Customer Advisory Boards.
We hold these every six months or so and they give our customers the chance to come together (usually between 10 and 20 in total) to:

Over the last couple of years, as a Product team working on Brightmail, we have really increased our efforts to gather as much information from customers as possible.

Here's some information you should be aware of before upgrading to the forthcoming Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0.2 release.
