How about something on the East Coast
I sure have missed Manage Fusion in Orlando we could get the funding since it was closer but haven't been able to convince my boss that Vegas is an option.
East Coast Manage Fusion
I agree with Jeanne. We need to see Manage Fusion on the East Coast also. We realize it may no longer be cost effective to have one on each coast every year, but maybe switching between coasts every other year?
What form will Vision take?
Is Vision 2010 modelled on the ManageFusion format or are we likely to see something fresh and new?
From past ManageFusions, guest speakers like Michio Kaku and the guy who spoke about the Mars lander mission, were both awesome.
On the other hand, some of the so called comedians were as funny as a rubber crutch.
A general refresh of the breakout sessions and content would be good too - some of those sessions have had several outings.

Best of Both Worlds
VISION 2010 is going to encompass the best of both worlds--
In other words, we're working to take the best of ManageFusion (technical tracks, specifics, etc.) and combine with some of the broad reach overviews characteristic of past VISION conferences.
We just announced the tracks for VISION 2010, you can check them out here. That should give you some idea of what you can look forward to.
What about Backup?
I understand that Symantec has a lot of products but we were a Veritas NetBackup customer and now Symantec NetBackup. There used to be an entire conference dedicated to backup. We have hundreds of backup licenses and hundreds of thousands of dollars in Symantec backup technology. It appears in the conference tracks posted that backup has a VERY minor role and very little discussion even in the Information Management track.
Is Symantec really concerned with the backup products and can we see more focus dedicated to these products in a future Vision? It is hard to justify a trip to a conference and paying a lot of money to get in for very little information.

Backup will have a significant presence at VISION
JOEH--
The sessions in the tracks will not be evenly distributed across the board and we plan to gear our content to the customer demand, to a certain extent. We anticipate a higher % of data center/storage participants, so we will skew the content accordingly. Also note that we will offer 9-10 concurrent break-outs and 6 concurrent hands-on labs, so there should be ample pertinent content to choose from. We'll continue updating the VISION site as well as we get closer.
NetBackup will be at Vision!
Hi,
I work in the Information Management group at Symantec and am helping to put together the Information Management track at Vision 2010. NetBackup is Symantec's largest product by revenue, so we're very keen to ensure we have plenty of relevant sessions on it at Vision. In addition, we also run various NetBackup customer events and regional boards, and if you'd be interested in participating in those please let me know.
Regards,
Mathew
Will there be a ManageFusion
Will there be a ManageFusion Europe or UK?
David
There will be a VISION
There will be a VISION conference in Europe. Tentative plans are for one in Barcelona next October. As final arrangements are made, we'll be making that information available on the website.
