In May of 2008, a fire ravaged a building on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. The building housed among other things, the University’s data center.

You know the old saying, “Everything’s bigger in Texas”? From everything I can gather that statement is true. Whether it’s 10-gallon hats, huge belt buckles, or pickup trucks, Texas is extra large. One other thing that is bigger in Texas are the colleges.

At long last the release of Altiris 7.0 was announced in this morning’s keynote. I’ve worked at Altiris/Symantec for almost four years and it seems like for most of my time Altiris 7.0 was “almost” done or that the release was right around the corner. Now it is a reality.
