With Symantec Workspace Virtualization 6.1 SP6 we introduced a new EXE based installer that replaces our standalone MSI installer, which is now wrapped inside the EXE, because we’re now installing a Visual C++ runtime that’s required for XPF package support. 

Despite the long name this issue is pretty simple.  There are certain situations that when activating an Office 2010 layer you the following error message:

"BCSSync.exe - Unable to Locate Component

This application has failed to start because mscoree.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix the problem."

For existing Customers (you have a license key) you can download it at our public download site.

For Symantec Workspace Virtualization (SWV) 6.1 SP4 we’ve changed our default file package format from VSA to the new XPF package.  While VSAs will still be available as an Export option for the time being—XPFs bring numerous benefits to not just SWV but Symantec Workspace Streaming (SWS) so the whole suite as a whole.
