Juice Has Moved! Please Remember

erikw's picture

The Juice has moved, and now people complain about not seeing their points.

The only thing you have to do is to register on the SymAccount site with the same email address you previously used on the Juice.

Then you will see your history, points and all your settings.

Hope this helps.

Alternate Juice URL

I'm not sure why, and Juicemaster is likely still working on smoothing out the details, but I've observed that if I use this URL to get to the Juice, I don't have to log in every time: https://www-secure.symantec.com/community/

Security Policies

Since Symantec is a security company, their security policies are a bit more stringent that what we were able to get away with in the old Juice site.

We set a cookie on the old Juice that allowed you to stay logged in for several weeks. So each time you returned to the Juice, you were logged in.

The problem with that policy was that anyone who had access to your computer could visit the Juice and be logged in as you.

You'll also notice we now use https for authenticated users. This security measure was a long time coming. It took help from Symantec to make it happen.

I do understand that it's inconvenient to have to log in each time you visit. But it is much more secure.

It's just Juice...

In most incidences I can understand the security, but Juice is just forum. I mean, if I found out someone hacked into this account, I don't think I would loose any sleep over it. The worst thing I can think of someone doing with my Juice information is using my hard earned Juice points. Either way I can live with the logging on every time I come to the site, even if it is annoying. My biggest problem is the password. This is the only site where I have that uses a specal character for my password. I have already forgotten my password 2-3 times and had to get it reset. I guess on the upside, the password reset is very simple to use =P.

Rest assured

Thanks for the feedback spazzzen.

We argued a lot of these exact points with the Symantec security team. We did, in fact, win on a few counts but there were a few that they wouldn't budge on.

I do get a chuckle out of the fact that my Juice password is more secure than the one protecting my life savings, but so it goes.

Thanks for being a trooper,
Kevin

SymAccount E-mail Address

Thanks for the heads up Erik.

Let me clarify one point though:

When you log in using SymAccount, if your SymAccount e-mail address and the e-mail address you used in the old Juice site match, your Juice account will automatically be modified to recognize your SymAccount login -- yep, we thought this through ;)

If, however your SymAccount e-mail and your Juice e-mail don't match, you'll be asked to enter your Juice username and password (this only happens once and it's to verify your Juice identity). At that point your Juice account (including the e-mail address) is changed to recognize your SymAccount login.

HTH,
Kevin

Check your Notifications Tab

Hi haim96

We've been working out a few kinks since the migration to the Symantec community. Go to you profile page and click the "notifications" tab to see what you're signed up for. Some of your settings may have been lost in the transition.

Hope this helps!
