MSI Tips and Tricks

The link you provided is a good primer for someone who has little-to-no knowledge on msi's. And of course the whole RealMen part made me laugh.

While I have to admit that it does give a little bit of guidance on how to create msi's, we can't really say that it takes a genius to use Setup Capture. A beginner would be better off learning about msi basics particularly Self Healing, Installation Sequences and msi structure. Creating an msi is easy, however troubleshooting would be an issue if a beginner packager has little or no grasp of msi basics whatsoever.

A good starting point for beginners right enough, but as mentioned on here there is much to be gained from experience and this is an excellent source of reference.  There are also other sites that are suited for both beginners and also more expert packagers which are very helpful too.
