NASDAQ opening - celebrating the 20th anniversary of Symantec’s IPO
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Symantec’s IPO, Symantec President and CEO Enrique Salem rang the opening bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite yesterday. As Enrique stated in his opening remarks, "When you think about our company, we have evolved from a small company started to help people recover data to being the number one provider of security and availability software in the world."
Enrique was joined onstage by a number of employees from Symantec’s New York office. A specially-designed video highlighting Symantec’s leadership and global reach was displayed on the seven-story electronic display that wraps around the NASDAQ building in the center of Times Square. To close the day, Enrique was a guest on Bloomberg’s ‘Taking Stock’ show. The interview can be seen online at http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a0Bsj2pqsGbc.
I think Enrique said it best onstage, "I would like to thank everyone who has helped our company to thrive and grow, because we know our success is based on how we help our customers."
