Along with Critical device drivers (MSD and Network) Driver Manager and DeployAnywhere In DS 7.1 onwards supports addition and deployment of Non critical device drivers , You can have following different non critical devices as –  BIOS , Bluetooth , Camcoder , Card Reader-Writer ,CD ROM ,CD RW, Chipset, Copier, Digital Camera, Digital Media, DVD-ROM / RW, FAX, IrDa, Joystick, Keyboard, Modem, Monitor, Motherboard, Mouse, MP3 player, Multifunctional , plotter, print server, Printer, Projector, Scanner, Sound, Telephone, TV Tuner Card, UPS , USB, Video Capture  ,Video Card ,Web Cam.

In our test setup we have some non critical devices but not all , it is our customer (you) who has different set of devices and work environment where you need to deal with different devices of different vendors in day to day task , If you are using DS 7.1 then I am needing your feedback , Device Drivers for different devices may function differently and may have a specific type of drivers.

And it is not possible to have and test the functionality on all the devices in today’s fast moving technology world, every day vendor comes up with new and different devices

Through this blog I request you, If you have observed any dissimilar devices or device drivers , then please use Driver management console to manage the driver and Deployanywhere feature to retarget those drivers.

As this is first time we have exposed this feature to the customer your feedback is essential; For any issue or unsound behavior please provide your observation either on this blog or to the support team directly.

If i have missed any device in above list please specify the device , this will help us to count on these new devices by meas of testing and supporting.

I've noticed that when I include deployanywhere in my imageing tasks it does not include non-critical drivers and the only way I've been able to do this is to run deployanwhere manually using switches found here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH186664

I did update my executables to the versions listed in that document.

I have the MR1 DS7.1 and I have tried to load the driver into my DB and it is still not installing them onto my E6330 xp client.  Do you have any suggestions? I am testing to see if its still not loading on the win 7 image now

Just as a heads up.. I've not been able to make any of the Intel drivers install properly on a subset of machines (Hewlett Packard dx2400, dc5700, dc5800,). This problem is still present after updating everything to sp1.

I am using DS 7.1 SP1. I deploy a Windows 7 SP1 image with deployanywhere. My critical drivers are taken care of and install properly. However, I am having some issues with my non-critical drivers. When I boot into my Windows 7 installation, I still have drivers missing, even though they are in my driverDB. I have verified them by typing the hardware IDs into my driverDB and they show up in my drivers list. My main concerns are with my audio device and video card. The audio is an IDT device and the video is Intel HD Graphics 3000.

I have attached the output of the following command (from the WinPE environment):

deployanywhere64.exe /target="D:\Windows" /ddb="Z:\task handler\driversdb" /reportNonCriticalDevices /eval

I see where it says I am missing the audio driver, even though I have verified that it is in the driverDB. However there is no mention of a video device. Can you please take a look at this? I also was wondering if this solution has been included in a release yet. Thanks.
