In case you were not aware, the newest rollup has been released. The R7 release was previously scheduled to be released a little later but was cut loose to resolve the critical security vulnerability with previous versions of the agent.

The information about the R7 release can be found here:

Make note...

There is a comment at the end of the article regarding replacing a DLL file that may not have been replaced during the upgrade.

I have performed 3 of these upgrades and had to manually replace the file all 3 times.

Thanks for the heads up...

I had no idea about this .dll file. I have had R7 installed since the day after it was released...and I had no idea that this .dll file had not been updated. Thanks for pointing me to the KB with this information.

Just completed 7 upgrades...

I just completed 7 upgrades and every time now the .dll had to be replaced.

During the install of R7, you can see the file being swapped out with an older version if you open Windows Explorer and navigate to the system32 folder and highlight the helper .dll.

The file is replaced during the "Restoring backup files..." phase of the installer.

I think the wrong version of the .dll was compiled with the R7 release and it was too late to catch it.

R7 upgrade completed successfully

I have 5 NS servers in my environment. I have updated each of them (which were all on R3 before hand) and they have all upgraded successfully and there were not issues with any DLL file having to be replaced.
