Symantec Messaging Gateway 9.5, powered by Brightmail, extends our leading antispam capabilities by offering personalized protection against unwanted email. It’s now possible for companies to refine their definition of unwanted email, and customers beta testing the new handling are impressed with the new abilities to block types of marketing email and newsletters as well as emails containing suspicious URLs, such as shortened URLs where the target has been obfuscated.
Plus, Symantec continues to increase the control organizations have over both incoming and outgoing messages by offering smart integrations with data loss prevention and encryption technologies. Symantec Messaging Gateway is easy for IT to manage as well with flexible deployment as a physical or virtual appliance along with seamless integration into Symantec Protection Center (a single sign-on Web console). With spam continuing to hover around 80% of email volumes, Symantec is prepared to keep battling the problem.
