For customers experiencing this issue, refer to the entry below from Symantec's In Defense of Data blog:

We don’t often post about product compatibility problems on In Defense of Data blog, but we want to make sure customers are able to access this important information.

Symantec is aware of an issue with Mac OS X 10.6.5 and PGP Whole Disk Encryption 10.0.x. At this time, we recommend that customers using PGP Whole Disk Encryption do not upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.5.

Dear PGP,

I followed your instruction to try to re-boot my mac book pro. I turned on the laptop while pressing option key and choose the inserted recovery CD. I then entered passphrase which led me to a PGP window asking whether to decrypt or enter any key. I pressed space bar and am asked to enter passphrase one more time. After I entered the passphrase for the second time, it leads back to the same screen that would show up when I turned the power on without any recovery CD in it. Please help me figure out how I can get my laptop back. I have not been able to have an access to my laptop for a week now. Thank you, Miwa
