points difference please explain

Rookie! Lifetime points indicates the total number of points that you have accumulated so far on Connect while the Rewards Points balance shows the number of points that you are left with for redeeming for gifts.

Lifetime points are calculated on the points that may have come over from legacy systems (such as The Juice or STN) plus points that are earned on Connect. When Rewards points are earned and redeemed, the points for redemption are subtracted from the Rewards points balance, but not from the Lifetime balance.

In addition, the Lifetime points are what are used to calculate the "pie" chart for status in the community. Lifetime points are those that are accrued over a users lifetime.
