Later this year, Symantec.cloud will introduce a new online backup and recovery service called Symantec Backup Exec.cloud.

The service is designed to meet the needs of small businesses who need a simple, affordable, secure way to backup and restore their critical data. It helps protect data by automatically streaming it, encrypted, to Symantec’s secure, off-site data centers, with just a few minutes of set up.

The service is available for preview through the Symantec Backup Exec.cloud beta program beginning June 6, 2011. The beta offers an opportunity to try out an early version of the service and provide feedback directly to our product management team on service performance, usability and features.

Register your organization for the beta program today.

How about some quick differentiators on how it compares to your last cloud backup product, SPN?

Is this a plug-in to BE2010, or is this a standalone product that is cloud based like the previous SMB focused cloud backup?

Most importantly,How does one pre-seed hundreds of GB's of data?  This is the biggest hurdle for cloud backup, bandwidth.  (Well there is cost, but this is not the place for that)

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

Hi,

Very nice to see that the BE team is very fast to develop new technology and bring that to the world in a very simlified way.

Bandwidth is a big question, I guess BE team must have improved in that part.

Thanks.

Work mostly with Netbackup, Backup Exec, Storage Foundation, DLO and System Recovery

It's true that desktop and laptop search for Gmail, contacts, calendars and more, even in the cloud, is not something brand new. But when it comes time to search via cell phone, Gmail search is deficient in speed and capability. With CloudMagic, however, cloud search across multiple platforms by way of mobile is easy.
