Quick Erase Vs Long Erase Media

Differences and Similarities between Quick Erase & Long Erase options in Backup Exec 2010 & 2012

In BE 2012:

      Quick Erase option has been renamed to 'Erase media now'

      Long Erase option  has been renamed to 'Long erase media now'

1 Writes an indicator at the beginning of the media Physically erases the entire media
2 Suitable, if media has non sensetive information Suitable, if media has sensetive information
3 It is much faster It is slower and takes several minutes depending on the drive and media capacity
1 Media label is not changed after earse operation

Only the queued erase operations can be cancelled.

Running operation CAN NOT be cancelled.

(The status will remain 'Cancel Pending', till the erase operation complete)

Note: All the devices does not support Long erase
