It has been seen that web links within the Description field can cause formatting issue in the Process View window when displaying an incident (see screenshot).

The cause of this is how the Process Manager parses this. To work around this, make sure you put some non-link text before the web link. Once it parses the boundary, then it is able to format correctly.

With the release of the 7.1 versions of both the Symantec Management Platform and ServiceDesk, it has been noted that both applications support the same operating system, Windows Server 2008 R2. The question has arisen about whether or not they can be installed on the same machine. The simple answer to this question is yes. Yes, thay can be installed on the same machine.

I have seen an issue with Ghosting the Dell Vostro 430 machine where it fails and (in the console) refers to the storage driver. This model does not use the more common Intel ICH9/10, but instead used the Intel Series 5 chipset. Here is a link to these drivers:

I have noticed that there are issues with cloning the Toshiba A500 series laptop. The cause is that it has a different storage controller, the Intel Series 5. I expect more laptops are going to be using this in the future, and this would be a good driver to add to your Windows PE build.

I encountered this particular error recently and I wanted to share it. I had a customer who was a creating a PXE boot image through the Ghost Boot Wizard (version 11.5.1.2266). He was previously able to create a boot image, but after adding a driver to the Windows PE build, he was no longer able to do this.

An environmental issue has been noted in a few networks when trying to deploy an image to machines across a network that utilizes switches or routers with different speed hardware (100 and 1000, for example), and the session or task fails.

Preface:
Ghost was not designed to work with solid state drives. The recommendations below may or may not work in a given environment, though they have been tested and verified on at least some machines. Please not that before trying this in a production environment, you should try this in a test environment so as to not risk data loss.

This is either due to a lack of network drivers, or due to the drive mapping command, net use, executing too early in the boot sequence.

Some machines using Intel's ICH9 and ICH10 SATA Controllers, such as Dell Optiplex 755 and 760 machines, have been seen to not work with the storage controller drivers in the Ghost database. The error encountered is typically "To virtual partition: failed. Drivers could not be found in the PreOS for the following devices...", and it names the Intel SATA controller.
