As the slogan says "Find better Windows, Mac, Linux and online applications" , the AlternativeTo website collects thousands of applications in many different categories , security, graphic, office productivity, backup and other tools.

Nice to compare the different software applications and find the best alternative.

Another tool to add in your USB memory key to use in case of emergency. The KillProcess tool is a perfect killer for your applications.

There are many risks on internet, but if you have a good antivirus updated , you have reduced the risk of attack. But sometime is better to test if your antivirus program detecs viruses.

I found an interesting site that you can use to test run your antivirus / Antispyware program and check if you are really protected against these risks.

My goal is to create a USB memory key to use in case of emergency. Recovery computer from virus, hard disk crash, Bsod, or other issue, where the only solution is a manual operation.

Sometimes it happens. Scenario: During a Windows Office 2007 installation someone thought to shutdown the computer. In this case when you start again the Office 2007 installation, you will see a generic error and the setup will not continue.

I found a good site to find missing DLL's. In case you don't find the original media, this site can be helpful to download the right DLL in few minutes...

Another good tool to complete your USB memory with an application to manage digital photos, in my case I found this tool useful when I have to produce documentation. It has easy commands to modify and resize screenshots, but maybe this is the typical use for IT admins.
