Symantec Workspace Streaming is excellent technology when used in conjunction with VDI desktops.  You can stream applications to a non-persistent VDI image on demand.  One of the interesting issues that comes up in a non-persistent environment is the application "goes away" at the end of the session.

I was working with Symantec Workspace Corporate today on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.  Everything was working fine when I was attempting to use the agent from the SWC Server (I was doing some SSO work).  As soon as I went to access the server from a client machine, I was getting a Session Denied message.  I had added the Domain Users to the "Allow log on through Remote Desktop<

There are often times where I want to modify either the read-only or writeable portion of a Workspace Virtualization layer.  One of the things that makes this challenging is that the sublayer values are assigned when the layer is imported.  I have found that I have to keep recreating a script to find the layers magic number.  I have decided to finally write the blog post so I don

I have been working on a interesting issue with our team in China.  Everything seems to be working with the execption of couple of user logins.  To help our team figure this out, we had to turn on debugging.  I wanted to post the steps to turn on the logging function.

Start with Symantec Workspace Corporate 6.1 MP3, we have started to expand the functions of our proximity card reader technology.  I use the PcProx cards from RFIdeas, and this post may only apply to these specific cards, but I hope it helps someone in the future.

Being part of the Symantec Endpoint Virtualization team gives me a lot of exposure to all types of virtualization projects.  I am starting to get involved with more and more of what I call Phase II VDI (VMware View / Citrix XenDesktop) projects.  Most customers are struggling to get Phase I project widely implemented because of the cost of servers and storage.  In Phase II they a

I have been spending a fair amount of time with Symantec Workspace Profiles the past couple of weeks.  The tool uses Microsoft roaming profiles as its foundation.  As you probably know roaming profiles can be configured using GPO's or it can be configured manually.  I didn't really understand how the manual configuration was implemented so I went to dev to find out.&nbs
