When working with our core image for Windows 7 I found that restoring an image that has not been syspreped results in a boot error. You can go through the windows repair and let it try to "fix" the issue. Or you can simply use bcdedit to "reset" to boot information.

To install a MUI Language for XP we folow these steps:

1 ) Download the the MUI Pack with the language(s) you need.
2 ) Get the latest MUIsetup.exe from SP3 and replace the one included in the MUI pack download.
3 ) Execute it using this command line where "0416" is your language code, in this case Portugese.

While in Vegas attending the last ManageFusion I actually found a little time to get out and see the sites and made a video. It includes Steve Morton attempting to juggle. To be fair it was dark. :)

Information has been sent out regarding the User Group Challenge at ManageFusion this year. Is anyone from the Oklahoma User Group going and if so, are you interested in the challenge?

Ok so it's a stretch as far as heads ups go, but last week we had a fellow Altiris Administrator go out of town and we turned his cubicle green. It'll make you laugh.

When trying to use RapiDeploy with WINPE you may receive an error when trying to deploy an image on a machine that already has Windows Vista loaded on it. Here's a quick tip to help you avoid the error.

Here's a shameless plug for a session at ManageFusion regarding the ASDK.

There will only be one session that highlights the ASDK for the whole conference. Matt Bingham will highlight the information on Workflow and I'll be presenting several ASDK integrations my company has used. We'll have VMs set up so you'll get to see scripts and Web pages in production.

After a recent user group meeting where our company did a presentation on using the ASDK, I discovered that most of those in attendance thought that Altiris still charged for the ASDK.

It's free. No Charge. It's for you to keep. Yes -- you still have a license agreement, but you can use it to automate your Altiris environment to your hearts content.
