I think it is simplified to the point of being incorrect. SSL certificates don't verify that the organization behind a website is "trustworthy". It is more likely that someone with an EV certificate is trustworthy because they have to legally register a company and that allows them to be easily prosecuted, but it still doesn't mean that they are trustworthy.
