Securing Trust, with Parental Controls

Aug 02, 2012 04:35 PM

A recent Nielsen® study shows that smartphone  usage in teenagers alone has nearly tripled over the last two years.  The article quotes “In the teen study, Google's® Android™ operating system led the way with 36 percent of the teen smart-phone market owning Android-based phones, according to ComScore™.  Apple® iPhones followed with 29 percent, and RIM®’s BlackBerry™ phones were third, with 23.8 percent.”  The core benefits of Android – open, free and downloadable apps from many resources – also attract countless mobile malware authors to proliferate malware via apps that superficially seem harmless.

Symantec, synonymous to Security, offers solutions that help address and overcome the growing vulnerability of your family, children, data and devices. Symantec™ Next Generation Network Protection (NGNP) offers complete protection from network security threats.  One of the most important of NGNP is the Family Safety.  NGNP leverages the massive threat database from Symantec’s Global Intelligence Network (GIN) and various other solutions to identify and block malicious content.   With Family Safety feature, parents can define security policies for all the users and devices in a house, enforce these policies across any network and get custom alerts.

Our partner, AdaptiveMobile, recently delivered a very educational and informational webinar on Family Safety with Parental Controls. You can view the recorded session of the webinar here.
