SecurityExpressions 3.4 Server Installation Tip
Created: 23 Mar 2007 | Updated: 23 Mar 2007
Last week I installed two SecurityExpressions Audit and Compliance Servers. Along the road, I ran across a small speed bump. Maybe if I point it out, you can take it on without slowing down.
One of the first things that needs to be specified is a database component. You can choose between Oracle, MS SQL or Firebird.
If you choose Microsoft SQL, please be aware that the SA password may not be empty, and has to abide by two rules.
- Password Strength: Minimum 1 capital.
- Password Length: Minimum 8 characters.
When your SA password does not comply, you will get an ODBC SQL error stating that you used the wrong password or username.
It took me almost 4 hours to find out what was wrong.
Hey, I just saved you 4 hours!
Good luck.
