Small Business Webcast: Protect Your Sensitive Information from the Latest Security Threats

Feb 20, 2011 12:13 PM

According to Symantec's 2010 SMB Information Protection Survey, 73 percent of small businesses were victims of cyber attacks last year and the majority of these attacks resulted in financial losses. On Wednesday, February 23 at 10am PT, Symantec will host a webcast focused on how small businesses can protect their information from the latest security threats. You can sign up for the webcast now.

Symantec’s recent Attack Kits and Malicious Websites Report revealed that attack kits are now being used in the majority of malicious Internet attacks that target banking credentials. Attack kits are bundles of malicious code tools offered for a nominal fee, which criminals then use to attack distributed systems around the globe. Attackers know that small businesses may have fewer safeguards in place to protect financial transactions and information, so they have become a prime target for these attacks.

Kevin Haley from Symantec’s Security Technology and Response group will be joined by IT channel and security industry expert Larry Walsh and Nick Joseph, CIO of Orion Registrar Inc.

Many small businesses are left wondering, “Why are cybercriminals targeting us when an enterprise would be more lucrative?” Small businesses have become a prime target because attackers know that they may have fewer safeguards in place to protect their financial information. Join our industry experts to learn about what small businesses can do to protect their proprietary data, and exactly what to watch out for in the current threat landscape.
