Windows Vista is a RAM hog! There is no way around it, unless you drop hundreds of dollars on more RAM! Well, I found an article over at ExtremeTech that may help. It explains different things system Admins can do to speed up Vista. It is definitely worth checking out!

Here is the article: Speed Up Windows Vista

Speeding up Vista

Speeding up Vista will be read a lot, but i do not seek it in overclocking the processor. It is dangerous, and can damage your processor very well. Think about the temperature that it will gain.

The tip is very good, but only for the real techies.

The best way for speeding up Vista is to undress it. Strip out the games, non-used programs, and kill lots of the eye-candy.
It will become fast and more reliable.

Vista for me is faster then XP

On my Windows XP box I installed Vista and was amazed at how much faster it ran then it did under XP.

There are a lot of interesting articles out there in regards to speeding up Vista, but one of the easiest ways is to use a USB drive and ReadyBoost to speed things up.

Vista and speed

I use Vista and Windows XP on one system, and indeed my Vista is not slower than my XP.

The problem with Vista is that you do have to clean up a lot, bacause you'll probably never use it.
