Q:
This is a rather humble request, but I don't seem to be able to figure out which version of SVS is installed. SP1, SP1 HF1, HF2, HF3?

I understand it's not quite as cool to advertise v.2.0.1404, but that's what is reported in the About dialog.

So which version do I have installed? And how would I find out this information?

Many thanks for your time -- oh and really looking forward to v2.1!!!

Daniel

A:
Hi Daniel. Since the Altiris versioning standard (which is proprietary!) doesn't include the SP/HF #, it is indeed confusing. We'll enter a requirement that future releases should put both the version # and the release name (SVS 2.0 SP2, or whatever) in the Help > About box. We'll also forward your feedback to the management responsible for our versioning policy. Until then, here's a list of build numbers publicly released (not including the 2.0 betas):

1366 – SVS 2.0 Release Candidate
1368 – SVS 2.0 (March 23, 2006)
1369 – SVS 2.0 Hot Fix 1
1391 – SVS 2.0 Support Pack 1 Beta
1393 – SVS 2.0 Support Pack 1
1403 – SVS 2.0 Support Pack 1, Hot Fix 1
1404 – SVS 2.0 Support Pack 1, Hot Fix 2
1407 – SVS 2.0 Support Pack 1, Hot Fix 3

Hi!

Is there anybody who can tell me where I can download the latest release of SVS?
Thank you very much.

Why is the versioning

Why is the versioning proprietary? I think it adds to the confusion and just adding my voice to the idea that it should be addressed by those in charge of versioning.
