I've mentioned before that the last 8 months has been a really exciting, and busy time to work with our customers on delivering our next releases. Symantec Brightmail Message Filter 6.1 (Formerly SBAS) is no exception.
This is the first big release of SBMF in almost 18 months and is a real milestone in our Business Unit and Engineering team progress this year.
We have focused heavily on performance with this release and have seen up to 100% increases in message throughput under many test and production scenarios.
This chart shows the improvements we've made over the last two releases. (Benmarks on a Sun T5120, Sparc T2 chip with 32 cpu threads and 4GB RAM running on Solaris 10 U5)
A huge thanks is also to our customers that participated in our Beta cycle for this release.
Symantec Brightmail Message Filter 6.1 should be available to download via Symantec FileConnect by COB today October 15th (US PST).
