Symantec End Point Security Protection was not able to Login

Today i share the experience i faced with Symantec End Point Protection login screen was not able to login and giving me the below error

Experience

i have noticed that the service under administration tools-->Services-->Symantec Endpoint protection Manager is not able to start. When ever i tried to start it, it starts for 3 seconds and get stop again.

Resolution

i simply uninstall IIS and reinstall it again and then repair the Symantec Endpoint Protection from add/remove but did not get any success but when i tried to reinstall IIS as below procedure and my problem resolved

Try to un-install IIS
1.) Uninstall IIS

2.) Remove files and folders
%windir%/system32/inetsvr/
/inetpub/
%windir%/iisx.log
(use safe mode to delete)

3.) reboot, reinstall IIS,

4.) repair the Symantec Endpoint from add/remove

I am glad to hear that you were able to get this resolved. This sounds like the "Endpoint Protection Manager service exited with a code of Java -1" error, you can verify this by checking for EventID 4096 in the Event Viewer. There are many many causes for this error, most of them are due to the way IIS is configured. You will typically see that its a permissions issue with the IUSR_ or IWAM_ account, a port conflict, or a GPO that is set.

In any case, we do appreciate you posting your solution to this issue for others!
