In year 2007, I am newbie in IT industry, I was graduated as an IT in the same year, having a basic knowledge in this field, After I graduated I am seeking a job related to my profession, and there are lots of company where I applied for any position that fit to my skills, with my guts to have a job, I didn’t stop seeking, then finally I was hired as a Technical Support Engineer in one company which is a Reseller of Symantec products particular in IT Security and High Availability solution.
During my first few days I was orient with my Technical Head on what products that we could handle and manage, he also give me an idea on what is our main responsibility and roles, since the company’s nature of business is a reseller, we need to do a Proof of Concept in the client, during this days I have no idea and how and where to start that kind of task, I was assigned to focus in IT security solution. so I could absorb and learn the functionality and capability of the solution in a matter of time, after the orientation the boxing has begin for me, during first month of stay in the company, I need to accompany my Senior co worker in every visit to our client just to shadow and learn the real activity happening in the client end, I’ve learn a lot of things here, like on how to accommodate the client, how to deal with them and also as a Technical Support I’ve learn how to troubleshoot the concern of the client ,how to raised the issue and do some explanation about the problem encountered that make me feel more excited about on what happen next. As apart of my training, in the absence of formal training we do have a test environment in our office just to do simulation and do reading of the documentation of the solution what we handle. After this sort of simulation I was became more confident and reliable, in the following days I can catered the concern of our clients on my own I became more independent this time.
After 4 months of stay in the company I was assigned to become part of the team to handle a project in one of the company here in our country and fortunately in Symantec IT security solution, now that I’m here, this time I could say that I have enough knowledge to face the consequences, because I am in the real world of Information Technology and I am thankful that I belong to the one of the great software solution and take note all in one solution in terms of IT Infrastructure, I hope you can continue your great job.
