We're very excited that Veritas Storage Foundation was selected as "Best Storage Virtualization" solution as part of Virtualization Journal's 2008 Readers' Choice Awards.

From their Web site it says that The Virtualization Journal Readers' Choice Awards recognize the best tools, solutions, and platform offerings in 18 categories. Winners were selected through reader-submitted nominations, followed by online voting at the Virtualization Journal online magazine site.

We're also pleased to see that Veritas Virtual Infrastructure was selected as a finalist in the "Best Virtualization Management Tools" category and Veritas Cluster Server was a finalist in the "Best Virtualization Platforms High Availability" category.

Additional categories where Symantec scored high marks from readers include: "Best Application Virtualization" solution (Altiris Software Virtualization Solution); and "Best P2V Migration" solution (Backup Exec System Recovery). Additional Symantec solutions were selected as finalists in their respective categories including: Altiris Software Virtualization Solution Professional for "Best Desktop Virtualization Platform"; Altiris Server Management Suite for "Best Virtualization Management" Tools; and NetBackup for "Best Virtualization Platforms High Availability" solution.

As customers continue to adopt virtualization into their environments in order to leverage its many benefits there remains an ever present need to efficiently manage and protect these environments. It's nice to see that users are recognizing the value Symantec brings to the table to help them complete the promise of virtualization.

Also this month, Veritas Operations Services helped us win the ‘Best Customer Commitment’ award in the 2009 Services and Support Professionals (SSPA) STAR Awards for Best Practices.

When wanted to evaluate the extended Symantec Workspace Virtualization 6.1 - Was not able to, not launch yet. Currently seems in limited RC publication state... Well, well... & wait ;-)
Except for the pricing 45€/PC, it seems a nice solution. Good job guys. If you don't sell enough of them, just take care the price because of competitors. In a few monthes windows 7 will be there & Microsoft peoples are already stating Virtual application will be integrated: Of course, it is more false than less. Just an XP kernel machine emulation seems to be included. But a Nice OS I must say, more easy than vista to deploy.
