Symantec Vision 2010 Barcelona - Picture and Caption Competition

This is really a fantastic idea of Share the Vision moment with the community. With the help of this community we can share our moments as well as able to know about the others.

General:

1. This Contest "Picture and Caption" ("Contest") is operated by Symantec  (“Symantec”).
2. The Contest runs from 4th Oct 10 until 7th Oct 10 (the “Contest Period”) and is described in more details in Contest Details Section below.
3. Participants in this Contest are:  Individuals that "have a valid ticket for Symantec Vision Barcelona 2010" or "have attended Symantec Vision Barcelona 2010 for one day or more", and who have accepted the terms and conditions applicable when creating a SymAccount to register for Symantec Connect  (“Participants”). Participants must be 18 or over at the time the Contest begins.Employees of Symantec or its agencies are not eligible to enter the Contest.  Only one SymAccount is allowed per Participant. Symantec reserves the right to disqualify any Participating Individual who submits more than one entry.
4. By entering this Contest, Participant agrees to abide by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Symantec, which are final and binding.No correspondence will be entered into about Symantec's decisions.
5. Any prize granted in the course of the Contest shall be subject to any restrictions that may be imposed on the provision of such prize by the local or international or government authorities generally or to specific identified individuals. In the event Symantec cannot grant the prize for such a reason then it shall use reasonable endeavours to find a substitute prize of equal value.
6. Cash alternatives will not be given in lieu of prizes. No prize substitution shall be granted except at the discretion of Symantec. If a prize cannot be granted due to circumstances beyond the control of Symantec, a substitute prize of equal retail value will be given.
7. Winners shall be notified by telephone, email or in writing within 5 days as of the award of the prize.If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, Symantec reserves the right to determine an alternate winner by picking another winner. Winners are notified by e-mail at the address they provided.
8. By entering the Contest, Participants and Participating Individuals agree to release and hold Symantec harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest, or resulting from acceptance, possession, participation, or use of any prize, including and without limitation, personal injuries and death (unless caused by Symantec’s negligence), as well as property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery.
9. By entering the Contest, Participants and Participating Individuals agree that any problems with the functionality of the prize are subject to the manufacturer's guarantee which is either detailed in the product documentation of the prize or which can be ordered from the manufacturer directly. The winner is responsible to follow all instructions and in case of a guarantee to comply with all regulations to register and raise his claim.
10. By entering the Contest, Participants agree that, in the event of winning a prize, Symantec may use their name and competition entry in publicity and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
11. Symantec owns all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Contest and the Contest or parts hereof may not be used without Symantec's prior written consent.
12. Any tax or National Insurance contributions or incidental expenses arising from the prize shall be the sole responsibility of the relevant winner.
13. The Contest is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England without its conflicts of law. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
14. Symantec reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without advanced warning or notice, to suspend, withdraw or cancel the Contest for any reason and at any time and to exclude a Participant and/or Individual Participant who do not abide to these Terms and Conditions from this Contest at any time.

Contest Details:

During the Contest Period, visit the official web site at (“www.symantec.com/connect”). Then, after reviewing the official rules, register to use Symantec Connect, with all information requested, and submit a picture and caption from Vision 2010 as a blog post on Connect in order to become eligible to win a Prize (“Entry”).  In order for Entry to be valid, entrants must complete all required information on the Web Site.  All Entries must be received by 11:59:59am CET on 7th October. Submission of an Entry grants Symantec and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify such Entry in any way, in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the Participant.  Submission of any Entry further constitutes the entrant’s consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to the Symantec any all rights, title and interest in the Entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights.  Entries: must be the original work of the entrant; may not have won previous awards; may not have been published previously; must not infringe third-party rights, and must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent). 

WINNER SELECTION: All eligible Entries will be reviewed by Symantec’s judging organization made up of Symantec employees (“Judge”), whose decisions are final and binding on all matters related to the Contest. Judge will evaluate each eligible Entry equally based on the following judging criteria: 

1. Entertaining
2. Originality
3. Pertinence

The most Entertaining Entry will be selected by the Judge according to the above criteria and shall win the Prize.

Winners will be notified by mail or e-mail. If any prize correspondence (including e-mail) is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited. All Winners are subject to verification, including verification of age.

Prizes

The winner will receive an apple iPad of an approximate commercial value of €600.The total number of prizes is limited to 1.
