Symantec Workspace Corporate - PcProx Cards with MP3

Start with Symantec Workspace Corporate 6.1 MP3, we have started to expand the functions of our proximity card reader technology.  I use the PcProx cards from RFIdeas, and this post may only apply to these specific cards, but I hope it helps someone in the future. You will need to download the PcProx Card Configuration Utility and connect your card reader to your machine. When you run the configuration utility you will see and Advanced Tab and you will need to click this tab. On that tab you will see a Software Developer Kit Mode section and you will need to click in the Filter Mask Field. You will then need enter the following in the field.

0000000000000000IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

This gets the card reader ready to use with MP3.

You will now need to add a registry key to have the software recognize the PcProx card input. To do this you will need to add a registry key. The key is:

HKLM\Software\Symantec\Workspace Corporate\PSProxCardPPI

You will then add a REG_SZ type called:

FilterMask

You will then fill in a value of the same we entered into the key above. That value is:

0000000000000000IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
