This message contains critical, time-sensitive information for any Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 Free Demonstration user who has installed the product's Virtualization agent using the Workspace Streaming 6.1 Common Installer found on the public download site for trial.
The instructions below only apply if you have used Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 Common Installer to install the Workspace Virtualization agent, in which case please read this entire message and the instructions carefully. This does not apply to you if you have used any other mechanism to install the Workspace Virtualization agent.
In order to better meet the needs of our Symantec Workspace customers, Symantec has been working towards eliminating the requirement for these customers to enter their license key to activate their product. Unfortunately, an aspect of the current Common Installer results in certain functionality becoming inadvertently disabled beginning on December 29th, 2009. This can impact the availability of virtualized applications.
We have determined the reason for this issue and are taking corrective actions. In the meantime, in order to avoid potential problems with your virtualized applications, please go to https://www4.symantec.com/Vrt/offer?a_id=55183, click on Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP3 and download sws_6_1_sp3.zip. It is NOT necessary to re-install the product, simply follow the instructions found in the CRITICAL_READ_FIRST.docx
Again, the instructions below are ONLY necessary if you have installed your product using the Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 Common Installer. If you have installed your product using any other mechanism, or if after December 29th you have not noticed decreased functionality, the steps below are NOT necessary.
