The $64 Question:
What Notification Server Rollup must be installed for the Patch Validator to run and fix errors correctly?

The Correct Answer:
Notification Server R2 (KB 25133) must be installed for the Patch Management Upgrade Validator to run and fix issues correctly. The Validator tool is used to prepare Patch Management Servers for upgrade from Version 6.1 to 6.2

I'm using the Condor release

I just used it today to help a customer and it fixed all the database errors and allowed the installation of 6.2 which it would not allow before.

Problem is that it still has all the 6.1 components after the install in addition to the new 6.2 components.

To make it more interesting nothing was displayed for either version in the console. No Web Reports, No Dashboard, Tasks or Solution Settings for Patch to be found. So even though you may get to a point where everything looks good with it you're still going to need to cross your fingers.

Bottom line backup, backup, backup...
