 the search option is really nice ..but i guess people don't use it much..there should be something like

Before creating a forum discussion you have to search.as you click on Create discussion it takes you to search page or something like that.

Great point Vikram!  Another forum I frequent (www.tivocommunity.com) has this setup in a very efficient fashion.  When you begin a new thread, as soon as you type the subject of your post, the search kicks in and shows 5 or so threads that might be related based on your subject.  Those threads show right on the same screen as your new post, so they aren't "in the way" or slowing you down, but it does make it great for those moments when you don't think to search before you post, or even think of searching but perhaps not with the right keywords.

I do search if i have a problem with my endpoint .

Add the ability to choose the product before performing the search. I hate how you have to do a search first, then filter it down to the specific product.

Also, sometimes the filters will say something like "11.x" but is that SEP 11.x, or Backup Exec 11.x, or what? Not very clear at times.

I find google.com more efficient in searching Symantec connect.  I more often find what I am looking for by going to Google than I do using Symantec Connect's search.  Maybe Google can be used directly on the site?

yes...no doubt....google is better place to find symantec articles and not support.veritas.com

Well i do agree google is also a place b'coz we are more familiar with google and not Symantec Search but even Symantec search is good.

But one Idea i would like should be implemented when using search there should be a Filter for Resolved threads.

Suggest feature of google is really good, if possible we can add it to make the connect search better.
As mentioned by others, Filters option is handy

            As everybody knows, Googles job is Search Engines. So, it's normal why more Users, like Google Search vs Symantec Built-in search. But, i think that in the future, Symantec team, will try to put more Options for Better Categorization searches inside Symantec Site.If we need to Search for a Special items, i'm sure that, Just Symantec Search will help us to find what we need & nobody use normal Searches.

Bien le bonjour,
                            je tiens d`abord a féliciter Symantec Corporation pour leur esprit d`initiative ainsi pour le suivi qu`ils offrent aux entreprises majeures.

J`ai déja essayé d`installer EndPoint Protection mais hélas ce fut un échec.
Ce qu`il faut savoir, avec Vista Home Premium ma version du produit sachez d`abord ceci ...
Microsoft dispose d`acces a distance sur toutes les versions de Windows Vista.
Aux dernière nouvelle EndPoint était disponible en fichier Zip uniquement.
1- Microsoft controlle tout les logiciels d`extration de données comme Winrar et Winzip.
2- Donc le contenue extrait par ces logiciels est donc altéré.
3- Dans ces conditions il est presque impossible d`accéder a la totalité du contenue.
4- Alors que faire? Les logiciels d`extraction de contenue peuvent extraire le contenue d`a peut près touts les softwares sauf les logiciels de sécurité si ils ne sont pas de fabrication Microsoft.
5- Maintenant expliquez moi comment je peux malgré ce que je viens d`énoncer de quelle façon EndPoint s`installeras t`il, car a moins que vous que vous l`ayez convertie en fichier (.exe) je ne vois vraimment pas comment je pourrais l`installé en peu de temps car pour l`instant mon ordinateur est sans protection.
6- Pire mon disque dur contient des logiciels conçu par Mass Technologie Leadership Council, par le fait même toutes les organisations criminelles ou encore plus grave des groupes terrorismes qui voudrait surement s`emparer de ces techniques soit dit en passant technologies interdites a la vente dans plusieurs pays dans le monde.
Qu`allez vous faire pour me protéger moi et mon ordinateur contre de tels attaques.
Si j`échoue l`installation de EndPoint la situation risque de devenir catastrophique pour les libertées occidentalles.
La technologie de Masse sert surtout a prendre une masse d`atome (3 ou 4) et a en faire la dissociation générallement pour la fabrication de plutonium enrichie et sachez que le plutonium enrichie sert avant tout a la construction d`engins nucléaires (Bombe nucléaire) ainsi qu`a plusieurs autres applications.
Alors j`attend de vous que cette instalation se fasse le plus facilement et le plus rapidement possible.
Cette nouvelle ayant presque faite le tour du monde la compagnie Trend Micro m`as envoyé un email ce matin m`expliquant qu`ils ont tout ce qu`il faut pour m`offrir un système a toutes épreuves pour la sécurité de mon ordinateur, mais étant donné notre partenariat c`est donc vous que je contacte les premiers.
J`ai pleine confiance en vos produits de pointes et je préfèrerais faire affaire avec vous.
