Welcome to the Backup and Archiving community!
Firstly a very warm welcome to the new Symantec Connect site. This is a place for all of the STN, Juice and the Altiris Support Forum peers to meet and discuss about their favorite products. We have bundled some great new features on this community site so as to provide our priceless users with great product information via Forums, Articles, Blogs, Videos, and more . One distinguished feature of this new site is that the users can contribute content. So, please avail this wonderful opportunity not only to discuss in the forums but also to share some of your valuable information through blogs, videos and articles. Guess what! you'd be rewarded for all of the sincere contributions you make to the site. Check out the Symantec Rewards Program for more details.
And now, to introduce myself, I am the Community Manager for the Backup and Archiving community that includes some of Symantec's top products namely BE, BESR, NBU, EV, SPN and more. STN users might very well know me as "Turlas", the loyal STN Admin ever since it was launched back in 2007. My job here is to listen to your feedback. So feel free to drop me a note with any questions, comments and suggestions. Especially, I would love to hear some of your thoughts regarding this new community.
I am really excited to be part of this vibrant community that actively contributed about half of the total STN traffic and I look forward to connecting with each of you going forward.
Best,
Swathi Turlapaty

Can't wait to see whats in store
Hi,
I cant wait to see what Symantec have in store now that EnterpriseVault is part of Connect. I have been on the STN's for a while so Connect will be a new experience. I hope Connect will bring even more knowledge sharing to the EnterpriseVault community. We all have our own knowledge and experience and knowledge is wealth.

@Glenn - we've tried to sprinkle RSS around the site as much as possible - but we didn't get them put everwhere. Let us know where you'd like to see them and we'll try to get them added.

Hello Trinh!

You're in the wrong forum.
You're in the wrong forum. You'd have better luck posting over in the Backup Exec forum.
Having said that... looks like you got a typical good backup, really.
"Unable to open" errors are all temporary files, probably all in use. Do you really want to backup all of those roaming profiles, anyway?
"VSS Snapshot Error" - ya, those happen sometimes. Search the forum for more info. Basically it looks like the System State of your backup failed, but everything else went OK.
Mark this post as the solution, and have good luck for 7 years.
Forget to mark this as the solution, and tomorrow your server will crash.
what is a blog
What is supposed to be posted here? How does this differ from a products forum?
There is a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.
P.S. one negative vote awarded to me because of my ignorance :-(

Here are some definitions
Here are some definitions that I pulled from the Internet.
A blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.
A forum is public meeting place for open discussion of various topics.
Hope this helps ;-)

And I'll add to Swathi's
And I'll add to Swathi's definition. The forums are primarily used for asking questions. The blogs are intended to be a place where you can proactively post information. Good examples are tips, interesting features you've found, suggestions, etc. Which probably leads to the question of what's the difference between an article and a blog! Articles are longer - usually 1500 words and are fairly formal, like a knowledge base.
So, in summary -
FORUMS : Ask questions get answers
BLOGS: Post informal short tips and tricks
ARTICLES: Write longer, formal pieces of knowledge
Thank you
Thank you kind people for your gentle and patient explainations.
I consider myself educated.

Rss Suggestions.
A feed for *my* threads would be nice so I can see if anyone ever responds to my posts when I don't have access to my email. This also means I can search the content of the feed from my rss reader (google reader) more efficiently than look through my work email folders.
