I am a long time evangelist for Enterprise Vault. I would definitely recommend Symantec EV to my collegues. I support Norton AV products and will continue to recommend them to my friends.
I am on the fence about recommending Symantec. I have had to many issues.
So far, no real issues with it in our agency. Have already recommended it to colleague s. Now depending on how well I can get the Sharepoint content backups to run, I may be recommending it more :-)
Actually I recommend NetBackup to everybody because I think is the strongest Enterprise backup software. Of course it has things to work on, but it's still the best.
If this post was helpful, please take a second to vote or mark as solution.
Unfortunately I cannot join.
No purchase necessary to enter or win. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec) who are at least 18 years of age. Limit one entry per person/email address. One winner will be drawn at random each month. Responses must be submitted by December 31st, 2010. Subject to Official Rules. Void where prohibited.
If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"
Ops!!
I didn't read this
...... !
done ,,,
Thank you , I like it I hope to win it
When I think of how we use to do backups.
A tape drive per server. My morning was going in and pushing eject buttons. Then go back and change tapes. Log which tapes were for which servers. And the day we cleaned at drives. It would take forever!.
Now the library cleans the drives for me. Netbackup give me one look to see what I need to see, and reports of how things are going.
This is heaven compared to the old days!
I don't have to know how to spell....I work on Unix.
NetBackup 7.0.1 - AIX & Windows
I have recommended Symantec products to many colleagues. I have worked as a consultant working with both Symantec NetBackup and Tivoli products and have recommended NetBackup to man y of my customers as well. If there is one thing I would have Symantec improve upon it is their technical support. When I call in with an issue, it is not very likely that a first line help desk person will be able to resolve my problem and it takes too long to get to back-line support. Otherwise... keep up the good work.
SEP has kept this non-profit safe with a minimum of staff; can't beat that!
I'm recommending Backup Exec as the best overall solution for Backup in an Windows Environment(Small to Medium Size Companies). This is having tried also some competitor products like ArcServe or Legato Networker. Although for Enterprise environment i would definitely recommend NetBackup... it has the 2 features that i lack mostly in Backup Exec environments:
1. Data Multiplexing.
2. End User restore option.
I'd recommend NetBackup 7 with integrated dedup. It's allowed our environment of 3000+ servers to complete backups in record time on previously difficult clients. It's also enabled us to better manage storage, image lifecycles, and offsite replication.
Great all around product!
I will recommend Symantec Backup software to all. I am working for a samll company & i was not having knowledge of Syamntec backup software & I purcahse Ver 10 & now I have 3 different loaction and all locaton has syamtec Backup sofware. It's very easy to operate.
The contest is open to all the users located globally. Due to shipping and other custom duties, the flip camera is only for winners located in the NAM region. For the rest, who'd win the contest would receive an equivalent of the flip camera ie., 1000 connect points which could be redeemed for rewards in their country.
So, time for you to enter the drawing!
As an industry leader Symantec has dedicated and successfully penetrated into this market with great products that offer many features and the ability to custom fit services to clients needs. This is a highly successful model to me and my clients and offers a robust and agile way to economically fulfill services and support needs. With the current offerings and the stability and longevity of symantec, I recommend them as an industry leader to each of my existing clients and new clients. Backup services are no exception to this and as such I feel symantec's commitment to product excellence will stand and succeed.

We use EndPoint and Backup Exec and are very satisfied with the products... however when we have needed assistance it has either been incomplete, hard to find, or techs have been hard to understand and terse.

Being a consultant, I keep having to recommend solutions to assist my clients, and I find myself frequently recommending Symantec products, especially SEP for Anti Virus, Symantec - Vontu for DLP, and Symantech Backup software.
Would of course like to have more interaction with Symantec. and more knowledge awareness sessions.
Would also like to see SEP cover mobile devices.
Cheers,
Lalit
Yes,
I do recommend SEP to everyone. I'm satisfied with it.
I am working as a solution architect for SI company. Since when I have started my journy I have recommended Symantec products to most if the collegues and friends and many more companies too...
And even after recommending for many of them I have impemented successfully the way it was promised.
Now since I have many references for Symantec products who are having "Peaceful Sleep" I recommend Symantec products to users very often to give them "Peaceful Sleep"

I love seeing Symantec evolve. Symantec has great support and response times. I highly recommend it. I kinda wish the original creators of ghost, back when it was by Norton, would return to possibly add a fresh take on it.
Yes I would
I recommand Veritas Netbackup Server and Veritas HA/DR solution.
Any comment will be appreciated. Mark as Solution if your query is resolved

Hi Swathi,
When do the winners get announced?
Craig
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
At the end of each month during the Drawing Period, one (1) winner will be selected by random drawing from among all eligible entries received during that month as follows:
Was going to enter myself, but:
"...No purchase necessary to enter or win. Void where prohibited...."
Also, doesn't look like there's been any notifications yet either as the page has yet to be updated with winners:

"Have you still got the box it came in?"
I think that is for the Flip Cam itself...if the winner is outside of the USA/Canada, then the 1000 points come into being.
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
I second your words
Any comment will be appreciated. Mark as Solution if your query is resolved

Did you notice the other bit in the rules:
"...If a Canadian entry is chosen in the Drawing, the entrant will be required to correctly answer a time limited, mathematical skill-testing question before qualifying as a winner...."
Why?!!
Regards Andy
"Have you still got the box it came in?"
...maybe they don't think that Canadians know their stuff? Jokes aside, could be a legal thing that they need to comply with. I have seen that before on a Symantec competition...
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
Yes, I would recommend SEP and all its products to anyone from a CIO, CEO to my friends and neighbours.
Having been in the I.T industry for over 10 years - all Symantec products have proven reliable, compatible and effecient with dealing with different aspects of I.T.
Winners are announced here. Please check it out.
