missing

This seems to be somewhat consistent with a few of the websites designed for beginners, I noticed that they all talk about how to create packages (check), different GUIDs (check), msi structure (check).

However, none of them seem to talk about some of the basic concepts within msi technology (ie. self healing, installation sequences) which, by having this knowledge will definitely help any beginner not only create packages but also have the ability to troubleshoot problems which they may come across.

This site provides great insight on the basics as well as some advanced concepts Windows Installer Blog

Excellent source for reference

This is one of the best sites that I ever came across when searching for all things Wise-related when I first started out in packaging.  It is a great starting point for beginners and of course there are other sites which go in to Windows Installer technology and Wise in more depth.   I also would point beginners to Appdeploy.com which is an invaluable resource for both beginners and experienced packagers alike.
