Workflow Tutorial: Understanding Process Flow

This tutorial helps you wrap your head around Workflow Solution's process flow. You acquire this new-found wisdom by using the AddValues component in a project you create.

Prerequisites: None

Objective: Create a project to learn the process flow.

Estimated time to complete: 20 minutes

Step 1: Create a new project. Drag and drop the AddValues component from the Components palette under the Math category. Link it to the Start and End components.

Step 2: Set the Input Data as shown below:

Step 3: Set the Output Data as shown below:

Step 4: Right click on the Add Values component and select Edit Component. Click the selector button next to the First Value field.

Step 5: Click on the Add button in the Variable Data tab and select 'a' as the variable name.

Step 6: Repeat the previous step to set the variable name for the Second Value as 'b'. Set the Output Variable Name as 'RetValue' by typing in the text box.

Step 7: Right click on the End component and select Edit Component.

Step 8: Click the selector button next to the Mapping field and select the Value from Data radio button. Select 'RetValue' as the variable name.

Step 9: Save and Run the project. Click the Run project button the toolbar (bug with green arrow over it). Double-click the Execute link.

Step 10: Set the input values and click OK.

Step 11: The results are shown as below:

Step 12: Finished!
