EV archive job doesn't work ?

Hi,

I do not understand as to why my EV server Archival job is not working, this is for the zero day archive policy.

Is there any event log to see what is happening to this Excahnge Server provisioning group job ?

You can do a provisioning run in report mode, but what would be more beneficial is an archive run in report mode.
 
Once you have that please report back as it might shed some more light. Are your backups all OK?

There are couple of things you can check to start with it 

1. verifiy the correct policy is assigned to the user.( you can check this by right clicking on Exchange under Targets and selecting display polices assgined to the user.)

2. Once you confirmed that the correct policy is assgined to the user , you need to verify the policy settings like the Override setting under archviing rules, Never archvie items younger than xx, this should be unchecked . 

3, Int he polices check the archiving actions  tab, verify the following archive Unread item,Create shourtcut etc

4. If the items in the mailbox are in archvie pending state, check If vault store is set to remove safety copies after backup. If it is set to remove safety copy after backup then unless the backup is taken of the vault store shortcut would not be created.

Many thanks for the assistance, I just found out that there are 4 errors in my Event log.

Cool,

Get backups working, you should be set. You can also use ignorearchivebittrigger to fake it.

If it is a test setup you may set the Vault store to remove safety copy immediately after archive .

Also you may use the attrib command to fake the backup is done . http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

Does that means because of the Backup is failed (3rd party software backup by HP Data Protector) ?
