Hello,

Im trying to nail down which version of Altiris Client Managment Suite I can use for my Client.  It is almost like my client sits in a perfect storm of incompatibilty with the product.

The servers are running windows server 2003

The client laptops all run Windows 7 SP1 x64

When looking at the requirments for Altiris 7.0 SP5 almost fits the bill with one exception.

The requirments matrix linked below tells me that the agents wont work win 7 x64 sp1:

However the release notes I dug up for it claim I only need XP or greater.

Can someone shed some light and please help me out?

Thanks!

So this brings me to my issue.  7.0 SP5 does not support win7 x64 sp1 for the clients os.

Any advice?

Any way they can use Server 2008 R2 so that you can install 7.1?  It is leaps and bounds better than 7.0 and provides the option for further upgrades to 7.5, etc.  Installing on Server 2003 is a dead end road and will require the customer "migrate" all their data when they decide to upgrade to a post 7.1 version.

As much as I would love that, its not an option in the short term for them.  Thank you for the quick resposes by the way.

So what option does that force me to? Also any insight to why win 7 is supported by not win 7 sp1?

"Not Supported" means not tested.  It doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't work.  That said, I'm sure it will work fine....unofficially...:)
