Altiris Deployment Server monitor Pack contains and monitors the basic services that are responsible for
running the Deployment Server Components:
- Deployment Services
- eXpress Services
- PXE Services
These services are monitored to check if they are running or not running, e-mail notification will be sent in the
event of a service not running.
This is great, but...
This is great and just what I have been looking for, but what do you do with the .xml file after you unzip the file?

In the Altiris Console you will need to import the XML into the Monitor Solution. As this is for version 6.x you need to do the following:
Navigate to the Manage>Monitoring
Then
Monitoring>Tasks>Manage Monitor Packs
Once on the Manage Monitor Packs View you will be able to find an ICON called Import and this is where you import the XML into. Once imported you will then find a Monitor Pack in the List of Monitor Packs with the respective name above that allows you to enable, modify and apply to a collections of resources.
