Altiris Workflow Solution and European Languages

Apr 07, 2010 04:08 PM

Hello workflow users, here I have for you a quite cool sample workflow for your own projects. It could help you to find out the language of your Windows platform and / or the language inside the internet explorer, that is actually configured on the client. Then you have the chance, to change the language inside your forms, to "speak" a different one. Use it, and give me feedback if this will help you, and if you like to see more of our sample projects Altiris Workflow Solution and European languages.

To view this sample project, download the attached .zip file to your Workflow Designer machine.  Extract the contents of the .zip file.  In the extracted folder, double-click on “Read Browser Language.WebForms” to open the WebForms project in Workflow Designer.

Kind regards Ingo

Hi Hando,

could you please explain in more detail, where the language (in any configuration or registry key) is written into the user profile!
I can use this information targeted to customize your workflow to be able to. Send me the registry key for the language setting inside the profile, then I could change the script component to read it instead of the browser language.
Then I will describe how I have configured the script component to read a registry key instead of a browser language setting.

Hi!

Do you have knowledge, how we can set user based language in webforms in ServiceDesk environment? We would like to enable ServiceDesk user accunt based language selection.  User accounts are manualy created, not AD based in our case. Language selection based on browser language is not always the best option, as some our clients enviroments are locked down and language string defaults always to english locale.
I tried to use User Profile definitions - added definition for user language to user accounts. But I have not found any way to make them available in ServiceDesk workflows.
